This online exhibition recounts the career of Judith Vajk, as part of the wider SHE_SEES component of the Rewriting Women into Maritime History exhibition. SHE SEES celebrates women’s contributions to the maritime industry through capturing the stories of contemporary female professionals in the UK. Through captivating interviews and stunning photographs, we delve into their stories, bridging the maritime past, present, and the future.
Judith Vajk's journey into the world of oyster farming began in France, where she had travelled to work as an au pair. It was there that she met the man who would later become her husband, and her life took an unforeseen path. The career that she stumbled upon, rather than meticulously planned, became her passion and purpose.
