Debora Barros, Marine Pilot

Debora Barros, port of Rio Grande, RS - Brazil

Introduction

I’m Debora Barros, a marine pilot in Rio Grande, the southernmost port in Brazil. More than fifteen years ago, when I started, there were no other women doing this job here, and I became the first South American female pilot. My love for the ocean also inspired me to dive, and more recently, to pursue a PhD in Oceanography. And speaking of love, I’m also a proud mom of lovely twins: Isabela and Henrique.
